Our Mission
To skill, employ and build a career for 1000 students in the hospitality industry across all districts of Kerala in the next 4-5 years.
Our story
Smera Foundation is set up with the objective of skilling the youth from economically weaker sections and helping them build successful careers in chosen industries. The Trustees also believe in contributing to causes that will help build an equitable society and spread smiles on the face of the underserved through various interventions.
Smera has partnered with the Bangalore based SAATHIYA Academy, a Shibulal Family Philanthropic Initiative to offer short-term Integrated Career Development ( ICDP ) courses in the hospitality industry followed by long-term career support.
These flagship programs are offered at highly subsidized rates to make them affordable to deserving candidates.
Leadership
Meera Rajeevan (Trustee & Co-founder)
Meera Rajeevan has over 22 years of global experience in the IT sector with a successful track record in strategic and leadership roles. During her 19 years at Infosys, She has interacted closely with the founders of Infosys. Meera moved to the social sector 9 years back as the National Program Director for Vidyadhan, a pan-India higher education scholarship and mentoring program for India’s meritorious and underserved youth.
Rajeevan C G (Trustee & Co-founder)
C G Rajeevan has over 25 years of national and international experience having played leadership roles in marketing, sales, and operations in MNCs like GE , Wipro, Philips , Infosys, and Manipal Group of Hospitals. He also has 9 years of experience teaching MBA students at Calicut University. He is also an enthusiastic follower of natural farming. Rajeevan is an MC member of Thrissur Management Association.
Prof. Vrinda V Nair (Advisor)
Prof. Dr. Vrinda V Nair is the Director of State Project Facilitation Unit (SPFU), DTE Trivandrum with over 23 years of academic experience in engineering colleges across Kerala. She is also the Former Dean Research APJKTU. She was the chairman of board of examinations of University of Calicut and kerala. She has worked as subject expert for PSC. She is the Member of Business Advisory Committee, Additional Skill Acquisition Program of Govt. of Kerala.
Faculties
Neeraj O K (Academic & Operations Head)
Neeraj O K has overall 24 years of experience in the Hospitality Industry which includes 10 years in the Hotel Industry. He has worked with Oberoi's, Hyatt group and for the P.M. of Qatar based in Paris, taking care of His Excellency's Palaces in Europe. The rest of the 14 years has been in the teaching sector working as an HOD of the Housekeeping department as well as the HOD of various Hotel Management courses like BHM, B.Sc.HM & CS and BHA.
Remya Murukan (Communication and life skill Trainer)
Remya Murukan has earned 6 years of experience in the five star hotel industry as a Guest Relations Executive. And has thrived her passion through learn ,relearn and implement in the educational sector as a Faculty in online and offline mode for 5 years. She has completed Graduation in English literature and Diploma in Aviation Hospitality & Travel management. Now Pursuing Masters in English language with KARE University.

Haren M.S Post Graduated in Social work from Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady. He has 3 years of working experience in Child and youth welfare settings as social worker and counselor.

Adithya M R is an MBA graduate having specialized in HR. She has experience in working with various digital platforms like Youtube, Facebook and Instagram.
